'Midnight' Online Tour

Joe Odom's First House - 16 E. Jones Street

The peacefulness of this yellow townhouse belies the fact that Odom was running an ongoing party when Berendt first met him, but the self-proclaimed "sentimental gentleman from Georgia" kept an all-hours, open-door policy at this and his later residences. Odom, an attorney, piano player and bar owner, had a knack for avoiding consequences, pilfering utilities, and living as an uninvited guest in uninhabited homes.
