Reynolds Square: Oliver Sturges House (c. 1813)
27 Abercorn Street.
Oliver Sturges, who built this house, was one of those that met here with Captain Moses Rogers to plan the landmark voyage in 1819 of the S.S. Savannah, the first steamship to cross the Atlantic. Now this exceptional brick structure houses the executive offices of a newspaper publishing corporation.
