Savannah: "Native Animal Nature Trail" tour, every Monday-Saturday
Take a walk on the wild side at the Oatland Island Education Center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and most Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The tour features a variety of live animals and landscapes and winds through maritime forest, freshwater wetland and salt marsh habitats. Admission $3 per person 4 years and up. The center is located 5 miles east of downtown Savannah off the Islands Expressway at 711 Sandtown Road. Savannah: Savannah National Wildlife Refuge wildlife and natural history tour, every Thursday
Each Thursday, the public is invited to Savannah National Wildlife Refuge for a 4-hour wildlife and natural history tour of the refuge accompanied by a Wilderness Southeast guide. Participants should meet at the back of the Savannah Visitor Center parking lot for transport to the refuge. Cost is $35 per person, which includes transportation and bottled water. For reservations, call 912-897-5108 at least 24 hours in advance.
